Back from the Dead...

Ok, so it's been almost 6 months since my last post. I've been sorta busy. Needless to say, I have a lot of stuff to show! Some of the hold-up has been that originally, I was hosting my own blog of the very same name on my own site, Green Comics, and this was because I had just learned how to build websites and started goofing around. As fun as it is to build your own website (or blog), it's also time consuming. is easier and faster, and I'd rather have more time to draw and post the art. I'll still keep all that original stuff up on my site right where it is, but going forward, I'll be posting here.

I'd like to post two series of images. One, some pic's from my camera while I was out in San Diego at the Comic-Con 2006. Secondly, I'll show some character designs from recently aired season 2 episodes of the Venture Brothers!

San Diego Comic-Con 2006

I went solo this year (and curiously, so did lots of other friends of mine who usually take their wives, etc. What's that about the economy getting better...?) so my pictures ain't so great (as opposed to my wife Erin's photos). So I got to the Con on Wed night, and this is the first thing I just had to take a photo of - a life-size animated Princess Leia statue. Too cool!

And then, at some point, I just had to take a picture of these two. There were a lot of people dressed up in great costumes, as usual.

There were three reasons why I went to San Diego this year; the first reason was to re-unite with some old friends I hadn't seen in years, secondly, to say hello to some clients of mine from Adult Swim (Williams St.) who I also hadn't seen in over a year and to also hopefully jump in on an Aqua Teen signing, and thirdly, to arrange a last minute signing at the DC Comics booth (more of a room/large area, than a booth). I managed to do two out of three.

I met up with this guy on Thursday.
That's Les Harper, Jr. (one of those old friends - and then me on the right). Les is an animator in Atlanta and currently works on Birdman (and also was on Stroker and Hoop, and many other CN odds and ends).

Fast forward to Friday night where Adult Swim had their usual party, but this time on a boat that cruised around the bay. Here we see a couple of pics with Jim Fortier on the left (writer of: The Brak Show, Squidbillies), Nick Ingkatanuwat (in production as well as voices for various Williams St. projects), and C. Martin Croker (another old friend I hadn't seen in over a year) voice of Zorak, Dr. Wierd (and many, many more), designer, animator, blogger (arglebargle!), et al.

On Saturday afternoon, I managed to squeeze into the Adult Swim booth's Aqua Teen Hunger Force signing, at the invitation of David R. Willis (writer/creator of ATHF). Here's a couple of pics with me (from left to right), C. Martin Croker (see above), Dana Snyder (voice of Master Shake), and Dave Willis (see above).

An lastly, I had to show this awesome couple. I thought they looked great in their Dr. Girlfriend and Monarch costumes. Which is a perfect segué into some Venture Brothers designs!
Here's a Henchman thug from Hate Floats.

Here's the Ibis Priest from Escape to the House of Mummies.

And finally, Phantom Limb's car, from various season 2 episodes. And that's about it for now. There's lots more on the way - tons of VB stuff that will be ongoing as the new episodes air, and also I'm planning on showing some of my favorite stuff from the development stage of the Squidbillies pilot production.
