WILLIAMS STREET
Sometime, back in 2000 (maybe even earlier...), I got a call from a freelance producer working for Toonami. He and the Toonami crew were doing a shoot of a Space Ghost Coast To Coast read-through over at Williams Street. I'm not sure what episode it was for, but I think they were going to air the read-through, and then air the episode. Well, they needed storyboards for the shoot, or for the editing of the shoot. He didn't need them in any particular order, something that could be done later. The funny thing for me, looking back on these boards, is that years later I was going to work pretty closely with most of the guys doing the reading, but at the time I didn't know them, except for Clay of course. If you are familiar with SGC2C, The Brak Show, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, you might recognize this motley crew: Dave Willis, Matt Maiellaro, C. Martin Croker, George Lowe, and Jim Fortier. It was the only time I ever worked for Toonami.

I like how on page 2, panel 1 you kinda gave Clay "Archie Andrews" crosshatching on the side of his head! Har!
Hah ha! That's funny! However, I don't think I did it intentionally. Just a happy accident. Some of these are better than others. I remember I had a bunch of polaroids to work with, which some I traced and others I just used as reference. Some of the poorly drawn ones are funny too, considering who they are supposed to be vs. what they turned out like. I like the pose Clay's in on the one beneath that!
Yeah, a very "Clay-like" pose to be sure!
I think I actually saw this a while back :) Cool boards!
I can recognise each of them from your drawings, you're very good at capturing personalities! (I drew Clay a few weeks back and failed lol!)
I believe the episode this was aired in was called Table Read and I would really love to see it since I am interested in seeing the guys at work, especially seeing them do the voices of the characters. I have only seen Andy do Brak's voice.
the table read episode was very good. its interesting to see how a cartoon actually gets made. thanks for sharing!
